Meta’s mother has yet another boy-friend: the Icelander Bjarni. Meta has made her mind up, she isn’t going to like him.
During a trip to the inland of Iceland she is surly. Iceland is rough and desolate and there is nothing much to do.
But slowly but surely Meta grows closer to Bjarni. He tells ancient spine chilling tales and it’s great being with him. When Meta’s mother and Bjarni quarrel more and more Meta doesn’t know what to do. When the journey threathens to stop prematurely she realises she doesn’t want to lose Bjarni. How should she behave towards her mother?
Things are getting complicated.
